Altantuya- The Case Begins

After being postpone on Jun 4th 2007, today the case resume. This case has been the talk of the country and maybe in Mongolia too. Or maybe the whole world is looking into the legal system in Malaysia. In 1998 and 1999 the world was watching Datuk Anuar Ibrahim case and how the proceeding goes by and was questionable on whether the accused was given a fair trial. Eventhough the accused found guilty and jailed but most Malaysian and maybe the world) who loves to see a fair trial concluded that all was cooked up just to get rid of a potential leader for the country. People related how those in power can write the plot to suit their own needs and desire. The case was related to sodomy, corruption and Soros. It was a high profile case.

This time around it is another high profile case and everyone is looking forward to see whether this trial will be tailored just like the Datuk Seri Anuar Ibrahim's. For a start the prosecution team was replaced at the last minute. And now there will be some relation to The Scorpene which was highlighted too duirng the Ijok buy-election.

The accused

Azilah, 30, dan Sirul Azhar, 35, murdered Altantuya, at a location between lot 12843 and lot 16735, Mukim Bukit Raja between 10 p.m 19th Okt and 1 a.m 20 Okt 2006.

Abdul Razak Baginda, 46, accused plotting with the murder with Azilah and Sirul Azhar, at Federal Territory between 9.54 a.m 18th Okt and 9.45 p.m on 19th Okt 2006.

If found guilty the three will face the gallows.

Ketika mengadakan sidang media berhubung isu pembunuhan warga Mongolia itu, Anwar berkata, Shaaribu juga melahirkan kebimbangan dengan proses penghakiman dalam kes Altantuya yang sedang berjalan atas beberapa keraguan dan sebab.

"Saya dapat maklumat sebentar tadi (14 Jun 2007) dari Encik Shaaribu, bahawa beliau sangat bimbang engan perjalanan sistem kehakiman nengara ini dan masih mengesyaki bahawa anak beliau dibunuh antara lain kerana,m memegang beberapa rahsia besar yang dibimbangi akan terbongkar," tegas Anwar yang juga Ketua 'De Facto' KeADILan.

Kini wujud spekulasi meluas bahawa ada perkembangan mengejutkan apabila perbicaraan disambung minggu hadapa termasuklah cadangan bahawa dakwaan terhadap tertuduh iaitu individu yang ada kaitan langsung dengan Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Abdul Razak Bangida dan sekurang-kurangnya salah satu dari pihak tertuduh akan digugurkan, katanya.

Selain itu ada kemungkinan hakim yang akan mengendalikan perbicaraan kes itu akan dityukar sekali lagi kerana bagi Anwar semua tindakan itu hanyalah untuk menghalang fakta-fakta tertentu dari muncul dan mengaibkan seorang menteri.

Spekulasi sebegini telah menjadi lebih rancak dengan pertukaran pihak Pendakwaraya secara tiba-tiba sebagaimana terjadi pada 4 Jun lalu, katanya.
