Went to the Sales Carnival at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil and buy these two Betta (commonly as fighting fish or ikan laga) for my son. It cost RM 6 a fish and RM 10 for two.
I remember when I was a kid, I use to catch this fish myself. They are found at nipah swamps and they live in between the ribs of the palm where there is water. It's cruel to put them together and let them fight but that was the sport those days. We use to know many species of fighting fish and believe that Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens) are the strongest. But I promise these two fish that I buy for my son will not be made to fight each other but for admiring the colourful beauty when they are ready for 'war'.
