Ramadhan Fasting and Feasting

It has been quite sometimes that I did not update this b;og. My last post was during the Eid ul Fitr 2016.

Eid ul Fitr is an annual celebration for Muslim after a month long of fasting during Ramadhan. It is a religious obligation and compulsory for all Muslims who had reached puberty. However even is he/she does not reach they can sill fast as a training before they reach the compulsory stage.

Afted a month long of fasting from dawn to dusk, its a sin to fast on the 1st of Syawal following the month of Ramadhan.

It has been a practice that during Ramadhan certain spots all over the Malaysia. roadside food stalls are set up to sell all kinds of delicacies, drinks and food stuff. Local food and certain foreign delicacies can be found including some local cakes that were hard to find during other months.

Ramadhan can be considered a month of feasting where food is of abundance, its easy to find expceially after 3.00pm till before dusk.

Eid Ur Fitr Mubarrak 2016

6th July 2016 / 1 Syawal 1437 is the Eid ur Fitr for all the states in Malaysia. It is quite a wet day when rain falls on the night of the last day of Ramadhan at least for my area in Jitra..

Rain falls again at about 9.00 am when most Muslims congregate at mosques to perform the Eid ur Fitr prayer.

I'd like to wish all Muslims all over the world a Happy Eid Ur Fitr and its time to close ranks and unit at a time when Zionist Jews are pressuring and murdering innocent Palestinians and Islamophobia is on the rise especially in Europe and North America.

Regret not fellow Muslims because what is happening to Muslims today had been told by Prophet Mumhammad S.A.W reminding us that this will happen when the world is at her final age before doomsday.

What we are still unknown to us is when will Imam Mahdi be born. Then Dajjal will rise and Isa Al Maseh will come back to save the world. These three characters will come at the same era and after which Israfil will blow the Sangkakala (trumpet or horn) and doomsday starts.

8th August Boycott McD Day in Malaysia

Restoring Life?

I was looking for my post about Starbucks that had set out billions of dollars to support the illegal state of Isreal at this moment when the boycott Isreali products is heating up due to the Genocide in Gaza by the terrorist Isreal and Netayanhu. However it seems the post was not listed by the search.

I just wanted to share what I had posted to help water the growing boycott campaign in the midst of terrorist Zionist murdering children, women and citizen of Gaza whose land was robbed by the illegal state of Isreal with the consent of USA and Britian.

Hence, this post is another test whether this blog that was born on May 4th 2006 was grounded by Google after accusing me of spreading virus on one of the links, had been released.

If you can read this blog please respond with a comment.

Kanang Anak Langkau - In Memory

I copy this from Nid Bakar's Facebook.
This photo above was taken from THIS blog

PW 1 Temenggong Datuk Kanang anak Langkau, SP, PGB, PGBK (Rt) (1945 – January 3, 2013)

PW 1 Temenggong Datuk Kanang anak Langkau, SP, PGB, PGBK (Rt) (1945 – January 3, 2013) was a Malaysian hero and soldier from the Iban Dayak community in Sarawak. He was in the Royal Ranger Regiment and Regimental Sergeant Major of 8 Renjer (8th Rangers) of the Malaysian Army. He was awarded the Panglima Gagah Berani and Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa medals from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ahmad Shah on 3 June 1981.

Kanang anak Langkau was born on 1945 in Julau, Sarawak. He joined the service with the Sarawak Rangers, then part of the British Army, as an Iban Tracker on 21 April 1962. He was absorbed into the Malaysian Rangers when Malaysia was proclaimed on 16 September 1963. He left the service after 21 years of service as a First Warrant Officer.

Following the death of one soldier in the Tanah Hitam, Perak to communists on 8 February 1980, the Unit Combat Intelligence Platoon of 8th Battalion Royal Rangers under the leadership of Kanang anak Langkau was tasked to seek and destroy the group of communists. They tracked the enemy over 11 days on terrain familiar to the enemy. On the evening 19 February 1980 at around 1500 hours his platoon managed to estimate the location of the enemies, who were close by. Their initial estimate of the enemy's location proved incorrect when they found a communications cord connecting the sentry outpost to the main force and the platoon was well inside the enemy's perimeter. Cord such as this one is usually connected to a bush or empty cans so that a sentry could use it to alert the main guerilla force. They had unknowingly penetrated the enemy's perimeter.

This photo above was taken from THIS blog

Kanang, 8 metres from the enemy sentry position, launched an attack to his right flank. It then became apparent from the enemy return fire that the main force was to the left. They assaulted the left and routed the enemy taking one casualty and killing five communists. One soldier was seriously wounded and Kanang himself took three rounds but survived and eventually returned to active duty. His bravery was shown during the battle, when he shouts the legendary battle cry; Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban!, which means "As long as I live, I shall fight!", in Iban, which is also the Royal Ranger Regiment motto.[citation needed]

On 15 April 2009, he made headlines after rescuing a baby orang utan from captivity with his friend, Tay Choon Yong. The baby orang utan was being handed to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre.[1] He is currently as a Temenggong (Paramount Chief) of Iban people in Sri Aman, where he currently resides.

On 24 September 2011, he was conferred the 'Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang' (PGBK) (English: Commander of the Order of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak), with the title of 'Datuk' by the Governor of Sarawak, in conjunction with Head of State 90th Birthday.

Are You An Idiot?

Did Einstien ever said that:

"I fear the day when the
technology overlaps with our humanity.

The world will only
have a generation of idiots."

Today we still go to the cafe to meet friends. We visit museums to admire histories, we go to the stadiums to enjoy a matches, we meet our girlfriend or boyfriends not to miss each other, we travel together in a car or tour the city or sit at the seaside enjoying the see breeze and waves.

If you are in situations as portrayed in the collage above, do you consider yourself an IDIOT?

MIRACLE OF ZAMZAM

Zam Zam is one of the greatest miracles that proves the power of Allah SWT.

ZamZam water level is around 10.6 feet below the surface. It is the miracle of Allah that when Zam Zam was pumped continuously for more than 24 hours with a pumping rate of 8,000 liters per second, water level dropped to almost 44 feet below the surface,

BUT WHEN THE PUMPING WAS STOPPED, the level immediately
elevated again to 13 feet after 11 minutes.

8,000 liters per second means that 8,000 x 60 = 480,000 liters per minute

480,000 liters per minutes means that 480,000 x 60 = 28.8 Million liters per hour

And 28.8 Million liters per hour means that 28,800,000 x 24 = 691.2 Million liters per day.

So they pumped 690 Millions liters of ZamZam in 24 hours, but it was re-supplied in 11 minutes only.

There are 2 miracles here, the first that ZamZam was re-filled immediately, & the second is that Allah Holds the extra-ordinaril y powerful Aquifer for not throwing extra ZamZam out of the well, otherwise the world will SINK.

It is the translation of the word ZamZam, which means Stop!!!! Stop!!!!!!!!!!!! said by Hajirah Alaih As Salaam.

Zimam is an Arabic word, it is the rope / REIN attached to bridle or noseband & it is used / pulled to stop the running animal. Zamzam water has no colour or smell, but it has a distinct taste.

#Churpremiere - Paranormal Activity 4

Most people say they afraid of ghost and paranormal happenings. Yet they are willing to spend time and money to face them.

Tonite I am going to meet them. No!!!!!! not at those eerie places where they haunt but in the comfort of GSC Midvalley.

Yes, I RSVPed for #Churpremiere - Paranormal Activity 4 and will be going with my son (who is not more braver than myself). I responded their hashtag with, "I will switch on my Samsung tablet and get my engrossed ignoring their presence just to keep myself calm" Does that make sense? Or in actual situation, I will just throw away my tablet and run for my life?

GSC Midvalley will be screening the premier tonite and the theatre will be full of churpers. I am sure they do not have the time to churp throughout the screening but controlling their nerves.

Paranormal Activity begins as a 2007 American supernatural horror film about a couple, Katie and Micah, who, after moving into a suburban home, in San Deigo, Caifornia, become increasingly disturbed by a nightly demonic presence.

"It is presented in the style of "found footage", from cameras set up by the couple in an attempt to photograph what is haunting them.
Originally developed as an independent feature and given film festival screenings in 2007, the film was acquired by Paramount Pictures and modified, particularly with a new ending. It was given a limited U.S. release on September 25, 2009, and then a nationwide release on October 16, 2009. The film earned nearly $108 million at the U.S. box office and $194 million worldwide. Paramount/DreamWorks acquired the U.S. rights for $350,000.[7]It is the most profitable film ever made, based on return on investment, although such figures are difficult to verify independently as this is likely to exclude marketing costs.
A sequel, Paranormal Activity 2, was released on October 22, 2010, and was followed by a prequel titled Paranormal Activity 3 on October 21, 2011. On October 19, 2012, Paranormal Activity 4 was released. In Japan, a sequel was released, Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night." - Wikipedia

The movie is written and directed by Oren Peli and casts Katie Featherston (as Katie), Micah Sloat (as Micah) and Mark Fredrichs (Dr Fredrichs, a psychic).

I am bracing myself..........................................
Note: A frank comment from me. I just couldn't make out the story line. My son says, "Tak faham". It was just like watching a YouTube video clips and the paranormal fear factor intensity is not high.

The end fills with a tickling laughter because when everyone was waiting what to happen after the tittle credit...................the following tittle credit crawls up. *gigglish. laughing* Lucky it was a free invitation.

IPMC - Internet Platform Mobile Communication

I am not sure whether there is such thing as IPMC or Internet Platform Mobile communication. We have IPTV or Internet Platform Television to transmit television images over the internet, so we can have IPMC as a communication platform over the internet too because this is the trend with communication in the internet age. However we already have VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol, but IPMC will also include also video images.

When I try to Google for the acronym IPMC what was found is only Mobile IP. what ever it is, its mobile communication using the internet as the platform. Maybe if I a Professor or a PhD holder, when I coin IPMC, everyone will use it in time to come. I am going to us it in this posting and my future postings in it is related to mobile communication using the internet as the platform.

Using of mobile gadget has been part of humans daily life. Ever since Alexander Graham Bell invented telephone the evolution of communication today improves far more than leap and bound. Mobile gadget has been a very important tool for people to communicate and share things. Today mobile gadgets has been shrunk from a desktop PC so small that can be held in just one hand.

Now lets go to my main aim of this posting. Do you like anything FREE? I am sure most of us prefer things free unless there are some restriction on free items compared to paid items. Anyway thats beside   the point and not what I am trying to bring about.

Is Petai For You?

Parkia speciosa (bitter beantwisted cluster bean, or stink bean) is a plant of the genus Parkia in the family Fabaceae. It bears long, flat edible beans with bright green seeds the size and shape of plump almonds which have a rather peculiar smell, characterised by some as being similar to natural gas - Wikipedia
Petai or Parkia speciosa. Photo credit

I receive an email from a friend with an attachment (I post below) which I think is worthwhile to be shared for its knowledge. As most of us are aware the price of petai had increased since a few years back. The saying among the Malays says when Chinese know how to eat petai, the price will rise. There must be something good about the produce.

Petai can be eaten raw with sambal belacan or cooked as sambal with either prawn, squid or anchovy.

Eating Petai raw with sambal belacan as ulam. Photo credit

One recipe for petai is Sambal Petai. Photo Credit as watermarked

It can also be mixed with other vegetables such  as stir frying with brinjals

However after consuming petai be aware not to blow your breathe on your friends face and when you go to the loo, make sure you flush it well...........

ADVICE FROM UKM MEDICAL DOCTOR

Little did you know ........ after reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at petai in the same way again!

Petai contains three natural sugars -sucrose, fructose and glucose. Combined with fiber, petai gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that just two servings of petai provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout.. No wonder petai is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way petai can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

 Depression: (kemurungan)
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND among people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating petai. This is because petai contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS (premenstrual syndrome): (sindrom prahaid)
Forget the pills - eat petai. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anaemia: (anaemia)
High in iron, petai can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anaemia.

Blood Pressure: (tekanan darah)
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the petai industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

 Brain Power : (kuasa otak)
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating petai at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Understand that bananas contain lot of potassium too so eat more banana... Just look at those monkeys, they are really active, alert, smart and cunning too!!

 Constipation: (sembelit)
High in fiber, including petai in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the
problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: (keletihan)
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a petai milkshake, sweetened with honey. The petai calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: (pedih ulu hati)
Petai has a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating petai for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness : (mabuk mengandung)
Snacking on petai between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
 Mosquito bites : (gigitan nyamuk)
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of the petai skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation..

Nerves: (saraf)
Petai is high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight: (obes/gemuk)
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: (ulser)
Petai is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control : (kawalan suhu)
Many other cultures see petai as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Holland , for example, pregnant women eat petai to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): (gangguan afektif bermusim)
Petai can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer, tryptophan.

Smoking: (merokok)
Petai can also help people trying to give up smoking.. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: (tekanan)
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium petai snack.

Strokes: (strok)
According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine" eating petai as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%".

Warts: (ketuat)
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of petai and place it on the wart.. Carefully hold the petai in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, as you can see, petai really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it
has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals... It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A Petai a day keeps the doctor away".

Digital Energy Meter - Makes You Pay More?

When everything is going digital it does mean that all are going to be good.

After storing our documents and images in digital form, other technology is also jumping on the wagon.

I received an email about TEN will be changing our electric meters to digital. Errr...so what we have been using is analog? Don't know.

TEN's NEW DIGITAL ENERGY METERS
Please pass it on and Please verify if your house had been installed with the new Digital Energy Meter.
Logical that new digital meters are very sensitive and will continue to record slight flow of electricity as items left on but not use will still consume very minimum amps / voltage. Nothing to lose if we switch off and must be unplugged. Food for though . Cheers. Happy plugging and unplugging.
Digital Energy Meter

With the new digital energy meters, consumers who used to pay RM80 - RM100 monthly to TEN now has to fork out nearly RM200. This extra expenditure is putting a strain on household budgets. Do NOT leave your microwave, TV/Radio, computers & other electrical appliances on "STANDBY MODE".

Switch the appliances "OFF" as the new digital energy meters continues to run even in this mode.

The latest addition to the ever growing mobile world is I suppose the power pack.

During the last PC fair, many booths promotes powerpack because today's mobile gadget are really power hungry. Even though the specifications mention that the battery  on your gadget can last for days, most of them actually can't even last for a day due to the push function of the gadget and accessing the internet. For example a Samsung SIII has a battery standby life of 790 hours running 3G but will run out of juice less than 24 hours.

So the extra power bank will be a must add-on to your gadget bag so you will not run out of juice at the time when you need it most.

Asparagus Therapy

I am passing around an email that I receive and hope it can bring back hope to those who are diagnose with slim hope of recovering. Therefore what is posted below is not my product or writing. To whom it may concern, the original writer, you, had done something useful for the society May God bless you. .

Pls. read the contents below & pass to your friends

Three types of asparagus on a shop display, with white asparagus at the back and green asparagus in the middle. The plant at the front is Ornithogalum pyrenaicum, is commonly called wild asparagus,

Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a
photocopied copy of an article, entitled, `Asparagus for cancer ' printed in Cancer News Journal, December 1979.

I will share it here, just as it was shared with me: 'I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health for over 50 years.
Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R.Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus might cure cancer. Since then, I have worked with him on his project.. We have accumulated a number of favourable case histories.
Here are a few examples:

Case No. 1,

A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated.. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.

Case No. 2,
A successful businessman 68 years old who suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.

Case No. 3,
A man who had lung cancer. On March 5th 1971, he was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard about the asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it. By August, x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared. He is back at his regular business routine. *

*Case No. 4,
A woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by asking specialist as advanced. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin looked fine and nomore skin lesions. This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her kidney disease, which started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus..I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of Materia Medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones. He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones. We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy. For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using, and therefore canned asparagus is just as good as fresh.

I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.

* * PROCEDURE:
1) Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator.

2) Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.
Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.
As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent'. Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals. We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold.

For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our regular checkups.

The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink...

As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer. Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and inacting as a general body tonic. In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance.

The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good.. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the body's most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.
