Romanesco Brocolli

Once in a while we come across new items in our life. Either when we search for it or came across it by chance. Recently while shopping at a hypermarket in Kuchai Lama, I saw this vegetable, a brocolli group, a plant in the cabbage family, whose large flower head is used as a vegetable. The signage show it as Pagoda Flower. Maybe because of its shape i like a Pagoda. A search on the internet returns some results and according to wikipedia it is called Romanesco Brocolli.

It is quite rare that we come across such vegetable.

Wikipedia mention this about the cauliflower in its webpage as; Romanesco broccoli resembles a cauliflower, but is of a light green color and theinflorescence (the bud) has an approximate self-similar character, with the branchedmeristems making a logarithmic spiral. In this sense the broccoli's shape approximates a natural fractal; each bud is composed of a series of smaller buds, all arranged in yet another logarithmic spiral. This self-similar pattern continues at several smaller levels.

The vegetable is rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, dietary fiber, and carotenoids.

CLEAN YOUR KIDNEY

I Need Help. Is This Due to Facebook Virus?

I have been facing some difficulty with Facebook on my desktop PC and Laptop. It starts a few weeks back when clicks does not response. Then I have to refresh before it works. This morning the Facebook nightmare gets worse. I think the problem is on my laptop. My wife who is using the PC experience some problem with FB on Mozilla, switched to Google Chrome and she can then surf with ease.

When I logged in to my account and click LIKE, or do anything on FB it all will lead to this blank page with the URL.

Then if I refresh the page this error message appears. Even if I click Continue, it will go back to the same page.

For your info I tried on Google Chrome, Mozilla and even on IE, all produce the same result. I think there is already the virus thread on my PC that block pages being loaded. My antivirus is McAffee that comes together with my laptop that I bought last December.

I hope someone can come to my rescue before I proceed to my last resort that is to reformat the laptop.

Don't Download Chatvibes on Facebook

ChatVibes plant virus thread on your computer.

If you chat on Facebook, you might receive invitations from your friends to chat using ChatVibes. I thought is will be easier using that plug-in but I was wrong. After downloading there will be a small icon on the chat bar next to the video camera icon for video calling. See the accompanied picture below. If on your first invitation you click on the link given, you will be ask to download the application and save it on your computer. However if you copy the link and past onto your address bar and click, it will lead you to bollywoodworld.com website that has no relation whatsoever to chat.

I have tried to remove the application but as at this moment to no avail. I tried using the block app in Facebook, but there is no such application listed. I tried using the Add/Remove program in Windows but the program is not listed there too. It was saved in my C: User folder and removing the program does not Uninstall the plug-in.

So, the next time you receive an invitation from your friend on FB to chat using Chatvibes, just ignore it. The app will automatically send the invitation to your friend as soon as you click on his/her profile inviting to chat.

Hope anyone who know how to remove this application from Facebook can help us victims of chatvibes to remove the plug-in.

A check on the chatvibes websites explain this;

To remove the ChatVibes Toolbar go to control panel->Add remove programs and uninstall ChatVibes. To remove ChatVibes from your browser all you need to do is to disable the ChatVibes add-on (on IE or Firefox) or extension (on Chrome) from your browser's tools/options menu.

However there is no such Chatvibes on the Add remove programs in the Control Panel on my PC or Laptop.

I have been one of the victims and hope other will not be added to the list after reading this post.

GST- What Is It?

This is am email I receive and would love to share with all my readers especially rakyat of Malaysia

Go, Squeeze Them (GST).

The Rakyat do not fully understand the implication of GST, until it is implemented and prices of goods go spiralling upwards. By them it is too late.

A rich country like Singapore introduced GST at 3% but a poor country like us is going to put it at 4%.

GST is a multi-stage tax system. (Try to understand this!!!!)

Everything that the seller sells, from manufacturer, wholesaler to retailers, collect GST for the government. Unlike the current sales and service tax (SST) is a single-stage tax. Only one party along the supply chain collect the SST for the government. If the manufacturer collects tax, the rest are not allowed to collect.

Just Imagine every seller add GST when they sell. (Read on to understand this!!!!)

For example: The current Sales Tax for Toilet soap is 10%. With GST, the manufacturer pays 4% to the government when he sells it to the Whole-seller. The whole-seller pays the government another 4% when he sells to a retailer; and when the retailer sells it to the consumer, he pays another 4% to the government. The consumer actually ends up paying more than 12% in cumulative GST for the same piece of soap or > 20% more in taxes. (10% vs 12% + + +)

1) Manufacturer to Whole-seller - RM 1.00 + 4% (RM 0.04) = RM 1.04

2) Whole-seller to Retailer - RM 1.04 + 4% (RM 0.42) = RM 1.082

3) Retailer to Consumer (idiots like me and you)

- RM 1.082 + 4% (RM 0.043) = RM 1.125

You and I have to pay a total tax of 12..5% or RM 0.125 for every ringgit of the manufacturers price on this three tiers system.

If the supply chain is longer than 3 stages, the consumer ends up paying 4% more for each addition stage. Example: Manufacturer to Agent (4%) 0r 60% more in taxes !!!!

(The final price that we idiots have to pay is RM 1.17 equivalent to 17% tax or RM 1.07 for every Ringgit of the manufacturers price) on this four tier system.

If the GST is not stopped, the Rakyat will end up paying very very high prices for everything. (That is why iy is call GO, SQUEEZE THEM)

It has been 57 years today that I was born. Syukur Alhamdulillah I have been given this most precious "rezeki" by Allah to still breathe and live as a normal individual. The precious gift to me by Allah is health. I have not suffered any major ailment until today. I consider myself still free from diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problem. Even though He will pull back that gift from me anytime, I am happy that He had given me 57 years of healthy life. Looking back I ponder upon myself as to why Allah let me live after He took back all my sisters and brothers. Maybe He still want me to serve the community. Maybe He want me to serve my mother and father that i love so much. Its all a test of how patient I am and whatever test Allah gave me, I know He is the most Almighty. Maha Pencipta and Maha Mengetahui.

To all my friends that have helped me in one way or another, only Allah will reward you accordingly. Pray for my continuous health so that I will still be of use to the community, which I promise to myself to serve a long as I can.

Today I am 57 and my first anniversary as a pensioner.

Beware of Instant Noodles

Be Aware about instant noodles.

Please note that our Institute Jantung Negara (IJN) has recommended Malaysians not to over eat instant noodles as heart disease is mainly caused by the seasoning powder. If you can't do without it, reduce the powder by half and don't drink the soup after you finish the noodle. DO NOT IGNORE THIS ... Especially those fond of Instant Noodles... 'CORRECT WAYOF COOKING NOODLES' The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health: Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat. This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles. By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structure of the MSG, causing it to be toxic. The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have eaten the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD:

1. Boil the noodles in a pot of water.

2. Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.

3. Boil another pot of water, add the cooked noodles into the hot boiling water and then turn off the stove.

4. Only at this stage when the stove is off, and while the water is very hot, add the flavouring powder into the water, to make noodle soup.

5. However, if you need dry noodles, remove the noodles and add the flavouring powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Dietician's Note: If you buy plain hakka noodles which you make, you initially need to boil in water and discard the water. This will soften the noodles but to prevent it from sticking we need to add a tablespoon of oil and also the noodles are deep fried partially to make them crunchy and then dusted with flour to prevent them from sticking while boiling. Hence when you buy the noodles they are already made unhealthy and this is the type we use to make stir fry noodles and the regular Instant Noodles too is made the same way, plus they add MSG / Ajinomoto and other chemical preservatives. A large number of patients with ages ranging from 18-24 years are ending up with pancreatitis either as a swelling or infection of the pancreas due to regular consumption of instant noodles... If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous... Please share this info and help save a life

PEOPLE DIE DUE TO STRESS

This is an email I receive and "I would like to share with you an actual but very sad occurrence which I hope may get you to ponder over what constitutes anxieties, extremities and unnecessary over reactions. A long story... but worth reading for lessons learned.... you may want to pass on to others.

One of my friend's father who is a retiree in his mid-60s, is perfectly healthy looking and behaving normal, plays his round of golf each Sunday, does a fair bit of gardening, keeps himself busy the rest of his time helping his son's (my friend's) little retail business, and goes on

tour/trips every now and then .....

He was persuaded by his daughters and other well wishers to go for His medical checkup which he had last done before retirement some 10 years ago. He didn't see the need to do it as he was feeling perfectly ok and healthy. Of course he didn't want to spend the money. After persistent persuasion from his family he finally gave in (his daughters agreed to foot the bill).

First his blood test revealed a total cholesterol count well above the 5.2 threshold (in fact close to 6). The doctor advised that he went for his stressed ECG test.

Again he had to be persistently persuaded to go thru that test, which he did. And it revealed some abnormality with his heart.

Now the doctor advised that he went thru angiogram. He resisted again and again after much pestering he subscribed to that invasive test.....which revealed three (3) blockages in his heart. And the doctor advised he went thru angioplasty.

This time he was adamant not to go any further. But it was like the end of the world for his family members who were all highly educated people with learned common sense. They went thru the highest mountains and deepest oceans to convince the old man to go thru angioplasty.

The surgery was successful. And he was given a clean bill of health. His heart is revitalized and cleared of all blockages. After returning Home from the hospital, his family (especially his daughters) put him on a "healthy" diet. Strictly no meat...only vegetables and fruits, with perhaps

an occasional dish of steamed fish... no oil.

The result.... the poor old man became weaker, couldn't drive his golf ball the distance he used to, got tired easily when he did his gardening, lost a lot of weight (which everyone was happy because they see him getting healthier that way), went to bed unusually early ('cause he got tired

sitting up late watching the sports channels).... in a nutshell he actually got weaker and probably suffering from mal-nutrition!

Hardly 2 months after the angioplasty he passed away, supposedly from Heart complications.. All of a sudden, a few family doctor friends were able to offer explanations. One of them had this to say...

Heart blockages do not happen over-night. They are built up of time. And the body has somehow gotten used to the blockages. As long as the effects of the blockages are not life threatening, it may be best leaving them alone. Maybe it is better not to know about this. For most men at that advanced age already have blockages, some may be even worse. Not knowing it has one clear advantage. There won't be any STRESS imposed on the person.

And STRESS is the killer.

Some may not respond well with angioplasty. With the heart cleared of its blockages, the blood flow will be unrestricted. And sometimes the body (even the heart may not be used to this new revitalized condition) may not know how to cope with it quick enough. Coupled with a "healthy" diet of just fruits and vegetables which are not the usual and normal intake of this person, may and can do further damage.

So it's a combination of all these that could have killed this poor old man who was, just 2 months ago, a healthy bubbly man living a perfectly normal STRESS FREE retired life.

Today my friend and his siblings all regretted what they had done to their father.

Moral of the story is not to be extreme and take everything in life in its stride and with moderation.

One more thing.... my family doctor, age late 40s, hardly takes meat, a good sportsman, has a total cholesterol count of 6.

Some times it's in the genes. Like my 99 year-old mother-in-law who lives by herself, does her own marketing, cooks her own food, never eats any meat that is not fat all her life, hates lean meat, cholesterol so high ......and she is still kicking and so mentally alert. One thing....she's got

NO STRESS.

She only gives STRESS to all others around her. That's probably why she's living alone by herself.

So my friends... Don't get paranoid and stressed up for nothing!!! "

Poor Services Despite MSC

Why is our communication service very poor when we have been boasting proud of our MSC? Put aside the service charges as high compared to our neighbours most customer service is also not up to what customer expected, save to one or two.

1. I once subscribed to P1 Wimax service a few years back. The first 7 days signal was excellent because that's the time frame when unsatisfied subscribers can terminate the subscription with money back guarantee. After that 7 days signal start fluctuating between green and amber and most of the time on amber and downloading/uploading crawls like a snail.

After I paid my first month bill, the worst came. Most of the time I can’t even download anything. Signals went from green amber to amber red. Thats when I stop paying the monthly subscription. Why pay when you did not get your service.

2. Then I subscribe to AMAX (not available anymore now). Same experience happen. What is worst is the wireless modem can only be placed at awkward locations. I can’t get any signal except by hanging the modem midway at the centre of the window and my home is just less than 100 metres away from the base station. However I was lucky because I faced the problem within the 7 days trial warranty period.

I sent in the modem and terminate my account. It took me about 8 months before I get back my refund and only after I called and tell them I have not received my refund. What a surprise when the respond came back some sort like this. “What? you have not get back the refund? Wait, I’ll check.” What a shitty excuse by the customer service. If I were to keep quiet, I might not have got back my refund till today.

3. Come UNIFI from TM. I did not subscribe but have been reading unsatisfied comments from customers about the quality of speed and that is not a good sign of quality service too.

4. ASTRO customer service is also in deep shit. I paid the subscription on 30th September and until 20th the service was still not connected. Send a tweet cursing them but I think @astroonline is just up for show only.

5. Bought a U mobile starter pack for RM8.00 at one 7 Eleven outlet and on my first activation abt a week after, I could not make any call and found out that my line was not activated after I check with the U Mobile outlet Berjaya times Square to check. After being activated, my RM 5.00 preloaded with the startup pack has been used up by ghosts and the remaining credit was only 5 cents. What the F*** with the service.

So, are we proud of our communication provider and our Multimedia Super Corridor after all.

STUPID DRIVERS WHO THINK THEY ARE SMART DUMBASS ON OUR ROADS

Maybe I because I seldom watch News broadcasted over TV. I don’t read the mainstream newspapers except those online and alternative medias. Is there Ops Sikap this festive season? Every year when there is Ops Sikap, many people like to keep track on the statistics piously just like keeping tab on the medal tally in major sporting events. Whether it will be a new record or the ‘performance’ drops. Like it or not we have to swallow those stats.

I bring out this issue because I want to voice out my disappointment plus anger plus stress driving in Malaysia. Reason: STUPID DRIVERS WHO THINK THEY ARE SMART ASS ON THE ROAD.

Who are those STUPID DRIVERS WHO THINK THEY ARE SMART ASS behaving like wild boars driving on our roads? Wild boars don’t have any rule and when they come out on the road, they don’t have any rules to observe. This is my observation.

Q BEATERS : Once I saw this car sticker sometimes ago; OVERTAKERS WILL BE TAKEN CARE BY UNDERTAKERS. These Q beaters are people who create unnecessary jams. They are just selfish dumbass who think only of themselves. They usually bypass the law, taking wrong lanes just beat the Q and sometimes create unnecessary problem for other road users.

ROAD HOGGERS: If you want to makan angin, the road and highways is not the place for you. It is already a rule of thumb that fast lanes are for those people who drives like F1 drivers. People who are rushing to find the nearest toilet to pee. People who think that his car is powered by the latest Pratt & Whitney jet engines. If you want to hog, talk over the phone Be considerate and take the hogging left lanes la u.

BUSY DRIVERS : Those busy drivers who have to rely on their mobilephone to make calls or send SMS while driving. You watch this.

REMPITEERS : These are not those Mat Rempits who race out their heart in the middle of the night and think that they are invincible and will not die racing. These are two wheelers who speeds and weaving in and out between lines of crawling cars stuck in jams.

BATTERY SAVERS : These are drivers who saves their battery by not giving signals when turning. How many times do we experience, stopping and wait for the oncoming car to clear at junctions and suddenly the driver turns into the junction without giving any signals. Don’t you think this is just plain stupid of the driver. He definitely sees you stops to give him/her way and suddenly just ‘make donno’ and turn. These people think by not giving signals can save their battery life for another decade.

1 2 PANGSAI DRIVERS : They will use the emergency lane on highways when other obedient drivers crawling in the heavy traffic. It is breaking the traffic law in broad daylight and the authority is not there to book them.

HORN TESTER : They are fond of honking drivers in front of them, usually at traffic lights when the the right or left arrow is still red and there is no Give Way signage.

LANE IGNORANT DRIVERS : How many times you face drivers who stop on the wrong lane, usually on left or right (usually left) at traffic light, when it is green and the straight ahead light is red, just to be in front. They think the traffic light belongs to their grandfather.

THE GRANDFATHER OWN THE ROAD DRIVERS: All the above.

MAS A380 PLANE IS IN THE BUILDING PROCESS

This video was posted in You Tube but I got the lead from Malaysia Asia website. According to the website, the picture was taken at Airbus factory in Toulouse, France. It will be the first Malaysian Airlines A380 unit.

MyRAPIDKL and HONEST PEOPLE

There are still honest people around as I have experienced. Especially when one find something considered precious he/she can still prevent his/her greed and honestly return it to the owner. I am relating my experience when I accidently left my handphone on the seat in a MyRapidKL train.

It was 22nd August and I and my family were returning from Kuala Lumpur City centre after the Hari Raya shopping spree. It was quite a day when we left home after the Zohor prayer and reached home at about 1.30 a.m. Of course moving around during the fasting period is quite tiresome.

As usual most of the time I will not drive my car into the city whether alone or with my family to avoid the stress of driving, getting stuck in the jam and running around looking for parking. So my best alternative is using the LRT.

On our way home, we took the 10.20 train from Bandaraya station towards Seri Petaling, the last station on Ampang/Seri Petaling Line at Seri Petaling. After the Bukit Jalil station, there were us and another lady who seems to look confused. When the train stops at the Seri Petaling station, she came and asked us that this train do not go to Ampang? I explain to her that she has to change train at Chan Sow Lim for the train to Ampang. Since that train will make a return trip, I ask her to stay on the train and return but inform the driver of her mistake so as not to be caught to have a free ride. We left the train.

I took my family for dinner, since during breaking of fast we just had a pack of drinks only bought at Sogo. Then while waiting for our food, my daughter received a phone call and my name was mentioned and also the name Plaza Rakyat in the conversation. Then only she told me that someone had found the phone and send it to the Plaza Rakyat LRT station. Then I remember that in the train I place the phone on the seat between my crotch and forgot about it since I slept on the last half of the journey. It was a careless mistake on my part.

Back to the story, while thanking Allah for still letting me stay on with my phone, I tried to recreate the theory and what struck my mind is the lady saw the phone, took it and surrendered it to the train driver. Then the train driver surrendered it to the Plaza Rakyat LRT station Supervisor. However along the line all the individual involves are honest people. The lady who was alone on the train when we left, the guy who send the phone to Plaza Rakyat Station, and maybe a few more are people without self interest. Or else an item such as a mobile phone, if lost can be considered as gone case. To make the story short, I claim my phone at Plaza Rakyat LRT Station the first thing in the morning.

There was a note on the package where they kept my phone and was signed by one name Helmi. There is no contact number on the note and I hope the person involved can get in touch with me. I want to commend him for his honesty and if he works with MyRapidKL, the company should list him as one of their honest employee who should be used as an example. If I have his photo and the lady inside the train, I will post them on my blog to tell the world that these are some of the honest people that is still around. Only Allah can reward these people for their attitude.

IS ACER NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ME?

What compatibality am I talking about?

Computer of course. I bought my first desktop in 1984 and it was a 386. The price then was nearly RM4k. However it was not a branded set and I know nuts about computer then. Since the salesman was my former student, he did impress me to buy what he suggested. However nothing wrong with that set. It works just fine and I did some community service with that set in the area of sports.

In 1995, I bought my first laptop for RM5,500.00 at a PC Fair in Penang and it was a Acer Travelmate. I bought that too because the salesman…..er…salesgirl did convince me with the set.

During its terms of warranty twice the hinge broke and I have to send it to the service centre to get it replaced. Luckily it all happens during the warranty period and I do not have to pay anything for it.Use it until it I bought a new laptop, a Benq in 2001. Since then I lost trust in Acer. I have no problem with BENQ hardwares but with the softwares.

I switched to a FTEC netbook when I have a power supply connection problem which turn out the be the motherboard on my BENQ.

Earlier this year bought a Aspire AX3950 and last June I have to take it back to the service centre after I got this message: DISK READ ERROR. It was a HDD defective sectors. The Hardisk was replaced and OS recovered.

Then during this Ramadhan I experience another problem with my Aspire. This was displayed on my monitor screen. The PC hangs.

I have no choice but to force shut and restart the PC. The same effect occurs forcing me to force shut down again.

When I restart this message appeared on the screen

So I think I can just let the PC repairs itself by clicking Restore

While in the process of restoring, the problem appears again and the process stalled. I have to go back to square 1 to post this blog and I am not sure when the problem will bug me again.

Did the same process the second time and then this message appears.

Now I have to carry my PC back to Low Yatt.

So, I am wondering…………Is Acer not compatible with me?

You may find yourself spending a lot of money on gas for your car today, but the car of the future may only require 8 grams of thorium.

Thorium is abundant and radioactive, but much safer to use than an element such as uranium. When thorium is heated it becomes extremely hot and causes heat surges allowing it to be coupled with mini turbines producing steam that can then be used to generate electricity. It also helps that it has a very large liquid range between melting and boiling point.

Combining a laser, radioactive material, and mini-turbines might sound like a complicated alternative solution to filling your gas tank, but there’s one feature that sells it as a great alternative solution. Stevens has worked out you’d require a 227kg, 250MW thorium engine in order to power a typical road car. Within that system 1 gram of thorium produces the equivalent of 7,500 gallons of gasoline. So if you fit the Thorium engine with 8 grams of Thorium, it will run the vehicle for its entire lifetime without needing to be refueled while all the time not producing any emissions. The engine lasts so long in fact, that it could be taken from one vehicle and used in another as and when they wear out.The issues to overcome are the radioactivity and the mining of thorium to make this engine possible. Stevens says the radioactivity can easily be contained with aluminium foil. As for the mining, the reserves are there, with 440,000 tons alone in the U.S., we just need the mining facilities to extract it in large enough quantities. With the potential benefits that is sure to happen.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR COMPANY’S BANK ACCOUNT BALANCE

Some people might think this is just a stupid posting and I am trying to teach a duck how to swim. However as the name of this blog implies, Xperience of life, I post what I experience and maybe just to share with some other people who are just as stupid as I am. Of course everybody is stupid until he/she learn something new and erase the stupidity status for that particular matter.

This is a follow up of my previous posting I Registered A Sole Ownership Company and Establishing The Company’s Bank Account. Well I was waiting for one party to bank in some money for a project when it crossed my mind how to know that the money is already in my Company’s account. That is when I asked the bank and was told to apply for an ATM Card.

Today I went to the bank again, fill up a simple form, the same application form for the Savings Account ATM card application. The only different is, instead of the Account Holder’s name and MyKad, in its place is the Company’s Name and SSM’s Registration Number. Applicant must bring along the SSM Registration Certificate with a photocopy of it and the Company’s official Rubber Stamp. Of course the MyKad. The rest of procedure is just a breeze. Wait for the officer to process and I got my Company’s ATM Card within half an hour. .

MORTUARY ON FACEBOOK?

I was driving behind a taxi and on the boot there is an advertisement for an online obituary and mortuary service. At the same time I remembered when my brother passed away, his son asked one of his close ex student who is good at hacking to delete his account. The idea did not come into my mind at that moment because sadness over rule all imagination and ideas.

Now after reading the advertisement, it crossed into my mind that the idea of deleting his Facebook account might not be the right move. Maybe the account can be used as his mortuary in cyberspace so that friends who were are unaware about his death might come across his FB account and learn that he had passed away. Maybe a JPEG tombstone placed on his profile to let others know that the account holder has left us forever in this world.

Maybe Facebook can go another step by creating a obituary and mortuary in cyberspace so that the dead can be remembered by families and friends until time ends wherever they are. Well, maybe my idea sucks.

ESTABLISHING THE COMPANY’S BANK ACCOUNT

A business can’t run without money. So when you decided to start a business, you must have some savings to be turned into your capital. Savings alone is not proper if there is no transactions being done.

After you have registered your company with the Registrar of Companies, your next step is to open a bank account. For companies, clubs, organisations etc. the owner or person responsible can open an account with the bank of your choice. A word of advice is to choose your favourite bank or bank near to you since it would be easy to manage. I am writing this post as a newbie and relating my experience going through all those steps of running a business.

I open an account with CIMB Bank at one of the bank’s branch in Kuala Lumpur. Oops…… but before you can open an account, make sure your newly set up company has the official rubber stamp or cop. Ordering one is not difficult and can be ready within a few days. The rubber stamp will be your company’s identity to be used on any dealing with your bank account. It is usually rounded. I ordered mine for RM10.00.

Get the respective Forms from the bank and as with my account it is the CIMB Islamic. I was told that it is much better to open an Islamic Current Account because there is Mudharabah (profit sharing) s compared to interest in conventional account.

For the purpose of application, get ready a photostat copy of your MyKad, Company Registration Certificate and Company Chop. Of course la the money. For my account I have to deposit RM1k and that will be my start up capital. If the account is to be signed too, by your partner, he/she has to be present with the photostat copy of the MyKad to deliver his/her signature specimen.

After the bank approved your application to open an account, deposit RM1k (not sure of other banks, but I think that is standard) and I was told to come back after three days to collect my cheque book.

I REGISTERED A SOLE OWNERSHIP COMPANY

I have always dreamed of setting up my own company when I was still with the civil service. However, since I was in service, I was not allowed to get involved in business because it’s against the condition of service.

Now that I have retired all the opportunities is open and I manage to set up my own company. I start from scratch by registering a sole ownership company legally with the Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM).

The Kuala Lumpur SSM office is located at Level 16 of The Mall Shopping Complex in Jalan Putra, Kuala Lumpur. Its opposite the PWTC. Registering process is very simple and from my experience is quite a breeze. I spent just one morning and left the Commission’s office with a certificate to run a business legally according to Malaysian Law.

Application is required to fill in Form PNA.42 (Permohonan Kelulusan Nama Perniagaan) which can be obtained for FREE at the SSM’s office. This form is for Application of Company name. Three names can be applied but only one will be chosen. The choice of three names is for easy processing because if the first choice has been registered by someone’s else, the the next choice will be used.

Together with this, you will be given also Borang A (Kaedah-kaedah Pendaftaran Perniagaan 1957 [Kaedah 31] and this is the official business registration form.

After filling all the required particulars, applicants have to attach a photostat copy of MyKad and if shared, the partners. Take your number and take a seat. Your number will be called and submit the application form. Besides the photostat copy of MyKad, get ready RM70.00 as registration Fee for one address. If you are registering for a branch(es) then another RM5.00 for each branch. Company registration is actually RM 60.00 and RM10.00 for item 5 (i) as in the photo below.

When your number is called to the respective counter, hand in your application form and the clerk manning the counter will first check the availability of your company’s name. If it is available, then you have to pay the registration fee. After all the vetting has been done, checked and endorsed, sit down and wait for your Business Registration Certificate. Its all done and you can run your business right away, legally.

Well, this is just a Business Registration according to Akta Pendaftaran Perniagaan 1956. The company has still to apply for other required licence to operate, run or sell specified item according to its law. For example licence from the Local Authorities to set up a shop.

Today Friday 29th July is the last Friday of Sya'ban, the eight month in the Muslim Calendar. As the sun sets on the last day of Sya'ban, marks the beginning of Ramadhan, when Muslims worldwide will fast from dusk to dawn as sign of submission to Allah SWT. Fasting during the month of Ramadhan is compulsory to all Muslims and is one of the pillars of Islam.

To all Muslims wherever you are, I wish Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan Al Mubarrak. Fulfill the command of Allah because we will never know whether we can meet the holy month of Ramadhan again next year.

Web Intrusion

I received a message from Google regarding an intrusion into my email account. Google warned me that an unknown person tried to access my Gmail. Google advised me to change my password and I heed the advice.

I did not expect that my there is someone interested in my email and tried to open it.

With today’s advancement in software technology, such intrusion will become a normal activity especially when one is not well protected.

Lately there is some weird activity on Facebook chat function. A few time I received chat request from known friends which turn out to be something suspicious after a few times. The chat box pops up and it is from someone you know with a greeting. Once answered he/she will ask with this question, do you wanna laugh? With your response your ‘friend’ will send you a link. Luckily I did not click on any link. At first I thought it’s a genuine ‘hi’ from my friend. After a few times receiving the same operation, I guess its some sort of malware or phishing activities.

No! It’s Not A School Bus

We are always being presented with development in Sabah through our mainstream medias. The people of Sabah has been benefitting from the development programs implemented by the government from time to time. All areas of development has been planned for the sake of the rakyat.

Last February I went for a holiday to Sabah and on one of my trip to Ranau I saw this. I took this photo of school children going back from school along the way when I was travelling from Kota Belud towards Ranau. I am not sure what's the name of the place where the school was and to which village they are heading but this is the best means of transport for them to go to school. At least they do not have to walk. However is this a safe means of transportation for school children? I am sure the pickup do not have licence to transport these children but the children have no choice. It was a long journey until the pickup stops on the roadside to drop these primary school children. Is this a safe practice?

Today I went to Surau Ar Rahman, PWTC for the Fridy prayer. So comfortable and relaxing to be here. After a bite on a banana and a cup of mineral water went in for ablution and sits in the prayer hall. It was so comfortable an relaxing. This has been my second time spending the Friday prayer here and seems the number of people congregating for this weekly prayer has increased tremendously. It shows that number of Muslims submitting to Allah is increasing. Allah Hu Akbar.

The sermon is related to the BERSIH assembly to be held on 9th July. It was an advice to Muslims not to join the assembly, constitutionally legal but made illegal by the hnds to be who are afraid of losing power and eventually richness.

I regret that the Friday sermon has been used to badmouth the assembly by branding it as an effort to ruin Islam. To me, I don't see the BERSIH assembly is anti Islam because what they are requesting is a clean electoral process so that true democracy can be practised in our beloved Malaysia. They are demonstrating to demand 8 bda practices being going on in Malaysia and it all centred around the Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya Malaysia and NOT Barisan Nasional, PERKASA, Silat Gayong or Islam. So why must we relate the assembly to anti Islam?

FOR EASIER TYPING ON TABLET

A tablet comes with touch screen keypad. For most it is quite difficult to type correctly because at times the finger touches another key instead and get the wrong spelling. However some tablets from China comes with a keypad tablet casing.

Until recently when my nephew bought a new Tab, he showed me the item with the Folding Leather (it is PU Leather actually) protective case and bluetooth keyboard attached. Well, another new accessories for tablets. After he showed the accessories, it caught my interest and I went out to look for one at City Plaza Alor Setar. It seems to be a hot item since it had been sold out. Found a smaller dimension of such accessory, but it is pink. Of course I will find it awkward for me a guy to carry any pink item visible to the public.

The item sold in Alor Setar is RM200 +. In fact it’s a blessing in disguise for the accessory was sold out.

Yesterday I went to Low Yatt Plaza and found out the price is just RM 180 but I bought one from a bulk sales shop for just RM 170. It might be cheaper somewhere else, but RM 180 seems to be the standard price at Low Yatt.

There is two size for the casing. I bought a larger size for easier typing even though it might be a bit bulky.

There is also the same casing for iPAD too.

The casing has a built-in Wireless Bluetooth 2.0 Silicone keyboard with display stand and runs on rechargeable lithium battery that lasts approximately 45 hours per charge.

I did not expect to land myself in a new sports, Baseball. I never played baseball all my life except just a few days of learning how to play softball during teacher specialist training at Institut Perguruan Darul Aman, at Jitra Kedah in 1992. I learn the sport because it is in the curriculum. When the learning hours was completed, I did not pursue the game anymore.

Now 19 years later after I am involved in the sports of baseball not as a player but more as administrator. Ever since I was involved about four months ago, my heart is still not into the sports. I am looking for a new job and and keeping my fingers crossed. I will work for the sport until I land a new job.

Work is work and since I am paid to carry out my job, I have to commit and perform. Baseball in still not a popular sports in Malaysia and losing out to softball where there are more players playing the game. It is also listed as one of medal sports in the recently concluded SUKMA XIV in Kuala Lumpur besides being listed in the MSSM calendar.

I am not sure how long I can stay in the sports but I will or rather say might stay until I get another job.

However last week I made my first success in organising a coaching clinic for local coaches and jointly organised by National Sports Council. The instructor was sent by Baseball Federation of Asia. This job is not much different from what I have been doing when I was still in service at NSC that is organising. Thanks to NSC for being my training ground and now I am rendering my service to the community for the sake of developing sports in Malaysia. Me with coach Kim Jung Soo from South Korea who is responsible to train the local coaches during the one week Coaching Clinic conducted at Bukit Jalil.

After a week of watching the participants throw, catch, pitch and bat the ball, I do learn some skills and regulations of the sports. Ohhh, I learn about the sport a lot too when I was at the Piala Raja Muda Perlis 2011 Tournament in Kangar last month.

I own a Galaxy Tab GPT 1000 and bought it when the price is considered high. But now it has decreased to a much affordable figure. This might be due to the release of the second Galaxy Tab tablet, the 10.1 (P7100)

When I bought the tab and shouted on my facebook, one viewer told me that I will regret because Samsung will come out with a new WiFi version. That was in January 2011. Well, computer technology growth rate is very fast. A new gadget when it arrive on Malaysians shores might be obsolete in their home country. So if I were to wait for a newer version, then I will not buy any gadget. So, that was in January and I was aware that Samsung will be releasing this P7100.

I post here an email from a friend for all Malaysians to open up your eyes and mind and decide the future of our country. How long are we going to defend the rich gets richer the poor gets poorer?

The political blooper of this decade must have been this. The minister of this ministry says- we can't do anything to reveal the details of the IPP agreement.

I think this reaction is shared by many people in Malaysia. We almost fell off our chairs in disbelief. The government has no power to reveal the details of IPP contracts. If the government cannot declassify, who can?

I hope this minister will not be selected as a cabinet member the next time around IF the BN retains power.

Two, this absent mindedness is increased further by the equally bizarre statement by the TNB CEO. By the way, he takes home a RM 1.2 million pay packet per year and we paid him to come out with this kind of statement.

Profitability depends on being able to increase a take it or leave it price. You no pay you no electricity. He was thankful; the government has agreed to raise tariffs. TNB made RM 4 billion on revenue of RM 30 billion he's thankful, rising costs will not eat into the profitability. Yet he was practically crying throughout 2010 urging the government to review this and that.

He ensures profits by raising tariffs but not by tackling the costs centers. Where is the source of much increase in costs? Do they come from increasing wages of its employees or payments to IPPs? Or business misadventures in Indonesia.

The price hike of TNB tariffs is a reprieve for TNB. Pray tell us then, where is the qualitative difference between a TNB CEO and a kacang puteh seller if both depend on a price INCREASE to be profitable? The answer none- because both their profitability is the result of raising prices. Anyone can increase profit by raising prices.

This isn't what we expect from a CEO who earns maybe close to RM 100 k a month. We expect him to be profitable because of efficiency, because of cost cutting measures, because of streamlining operations and because of far sighted procurement policies. So the TNB of now that he helms, hasn't moved qualitatively from the TNB he started to lead. A few years ago, he justified the massive losses in coal purchasing deals that went awry as being not worrying because TNB's earnings are humongous. TNB earns billions each year.

So, because you earn a lot, its ok to lose a few billions of public money.

We therefore hope his contract as CEO will not be renewed. Nothing personal, just business.

As a first start to cost cutting measures, we suggest therefore the top TNB bosses volunteer to have the pay cut and that portion be distributed as wages to lower income staff members. Why? Because TNB staff is some of the lowest paid workers in the country.

The big chiefs in TNB whose only managerial prowess nowadays seem to pressure the government to raise tariffs are shocking. The CEO earns RM1.8 million a year in total. TNB's second executive director, who was appointed in April 2010, received a total remuneration of RM755, 320.22, including his basic salary of RM457, 440.

What of the TNB 'Indians'? While paying the big chiefs the above amount, in the same year, TNB kept its minimum wage at RM750 a month, only slightly higher than POS Malaysia's RM635.

The wage difference is scandalous. The CEO has been responsible for some heavy losses and he has presided over some bad deals over the purchases of coal fields in Indonesia. He should have his salary reduced or even relieved from his post. But as usual, government linked companies (GLCs) which tended to be top-heavy pay their CEOs huge salaries seemingly to reflect their managerial talent.

It's time for the government to cap salaries for the bosses so that wealth could be spread towards the bottom through better wage schemes.

Now this my first time at Hailam Kopitiam at Bandar Jalil Jaya. Place quite crowded which shows popularity. There is also White Coffee Kopitiam nearby but I haven't been there. Got free wifi. Bad thing at least for me is too much cigarette smoke.

Well, read on foursquare about other patrons comment. Agree that waiter service is quite slow. I waited for about 5 minutes before one came. Just ordered a cup of black coffee.

Reminder Of Using Escalators

A child aged around two to three years of age got his left leg trapped between the escalator skirt and the side of the escalator step while going down the escalator in a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, early last year. This accident resulted in serious injuries to his leg where some bones in his legs were broken.

Here are suggestions to ensure passenger safety while riding on an escalator:
» Make sure that shoes laces are tightly tied to avoid them getting stuck between the escalator skirt and the side of escalator step;
» Always hold children's hands on escalators and do not allow children to sit or play on the escalator step when taking an escalator;
» Always look ahead, stand in the middle of the steps in between the yellow coloured border on the steps, and hold on to the handrail;
» Avoid standing on the side of the steps;
»Know where the emergency button shutoff is located (usually at each end of the escalator) if you need to stop the escalator;
» Do not ride on the escalator handrail;
» Do not lean on the escalator handrail.

Items Sold At Carrefour Not Quality Controlled?

My son came back into the house and told me that the newly bought MTB, an ASOGO ACCRO99 is broken. He showed me the pedal that has been severed from the crank arm. Well, its an easy task to fix it back. So I ask him to bring the tool box and went out to help him fix it. I tried to screw back the pedal into the crank arm but found out it did not move in as expected. Then only I found out that the thread on the pedal is damaged (the shiny part in the photo). The damaged thread affected the inner thread of the crank arm and the arm too has to be replaced. Then i wonder whether Carrefour Seri Petaling has any Quality Control on items that they sell. I am sure the staff who fix the bicycle or at least the supervisor who receive the item from the supplier do check the quality of the item they receive. Bicycle is not sent in hundreds and maybe just a few units and he will have no problem to check that the items are in good condition when shipped to them.

Now I still have the option to send back the bicycle (still within the claim validity period) to Carrefour because of damaged product, but how can I send it back? I can't transport it in my car because of the size. To hire a van will cost me more than replacing the item at a nearer shop. If I dissassemble the parts, it might void the warranty.

I posted a cyber crime conmen modus operandi as experienced by a customer. These conmen prowl on unsuspected bank account holder and it was too late to save her savings. The best way to stop this is to ignore such emails as banks had sent out notices that they never request customers information through emails.

However if you are not sure, check with your bank to confirm. We all know that the email looks genuine but before one take further action just check out where do the Click Here link to. This email I received requesting me to verify my account links to http://kazuyoshi sc.sakura.ne.jp/mbb/Security. So the Click Here link does not link to Maybank but to a website in Japan. To check just right click on the link and check element. Don't lose your hard earned money to cyber conmen.

Manager loses RM4,200 with just one mouse click

KUALA LUMPUR: Accounts manager Chua Ming Choo opened a message in her e-mail informing her that there was some irregular activity occurring in her account.

The e-mail told her to click a link to her bank’s website to update her particulars for safer online banking.

Less than five minutes later, the simple mouse click cost her RM4,200.

Chua, 35, from Port Dickson, said she received the e-mail last Thursday.

She added that about two minutes after she clicked on the bank’s website, she received an SMS requesting a Transaction Authorisation Code (TAC) number.

Chua realised that something could have happened to her account and she called her bank to inform them about it.

“They told me they would block my account and I was told to change my e-pin number,” she told a press conference at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department here yesterday.

Chua said she then went to the nearest ATM to check her account and discovered the money missing even though she did not key in her TAC number on the website.

She lodged a police report on the same day.

Another victim, Chong Wen Shan, 24, from Teluk Intan, Perak, said he received an e-mail on May 1 informing him that his online services account was about to expire due to a database update on the bank’s system.

Chong said he was asked to update his particulars and being new to e-banking, he thought it was a normal procedure and clicked on the link.

He also keyed in his TAC number when asked and discovered that RM5,000 had gone missing from his account a few hours later.

Department head Datuk Michael Chong said the two cases were the first that he had received so far this year.

He asked Bank Negara and banks to be on alert for such scams.

“I do not rule out an inside job. Otherwise, how do these criminals know our personal details?” he added.

Poor Customer Service At Carrefour Seri Petaling

Carrefour Seri Petaling’s customer service is very poor to my observation.

We can see staffs wearing the May I Help You on their back.

I have been to Carrefour Seri Petaling many times to buy an MTB and until last night I still can’t ask anything about the item. I think I’ve been to that location nearly 10 time since having the intention to buy one but there is nobody around to ask. I even asked the cleaner to look for Carrefour staff and he too went missing after that. Saw a cashier on her way up the ground floor. When I called her, she told me she’s on her rest hour. Then purposely look around to see any staff then she too disappeared.

That was at the bicycle and luggage Dept. Sometimes back I was the last customer to leave the cashier counter. This is my experience:

I was shopping for furniture and was interested in the dining table. Nobody was at the department. I asked a staff who is at the Electronic Department but he had no knowledge about furniture’s department. At least he called someone over the walkie talkie. No one came. I asked another staff. Same situation. Then I was told the staff in charge of the furniture department is busy sorting out orders because there are many customers purchasing furniture that night. Now, if he is busy, why are there no other staff to look after the department. They are lucky I can still be patient.

What a lousy customer service at Carrefour Seri Petaling. They should station at least one staff at every department or someone mobile so that can be approached whenever customer need them.

I hope this posting catches the eye of Carrefour Management.

I least thought that this egg will land on our shore but a (maybe more)consumer had been deceived in buying the egg in Penang. What A Rude Awakening

It was a 'rude awakening' this morning morning when I woke up and switched on my phone after being dead for running out of battery sometimes last night.

There is a message received at 9.41 am from shortcode 66600 informing me that I have redeemed my Kad Mesra point. 70838155104630143 ; 17002 mata ganjaran ditebus di PSS Spg Pulai arah Utara 07/04/11; 17:38:36.

What!!! How can I redeem my points at Simpang Pulai when I am here in Bukit Jalil. It is my card no doubt because mymesra contacted me to inform of the transaction on my phone. Yes, I lost my card on 3rd of March 2011 between 12.47 and 1.10 am at Simpang Pulai RnR Petronas Station (check my Foursquare check-in history). I only realise that I might have lost my mesra card when i wanted to fill up at another Petronas station in Alor Setar. When I trace back I was sure I lost it at Simpang Pulai Arah Utara. I did not fill up at the station but buy some drinks and snacks at the counter tended by a lady.

It might be due to my carelessness because I was in a hurry since my brother is in the ICU ward at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Alor Setar, that I forget to collect back my card after the lady swipe it. I presume the lady must have put it back on the counter but didn't she realise that the card is still there when I left. As far as I can remember there is not many people around because it is not the peak hour of the night. If she does and she is honest she must retain the card and surrender it to her supervisor. Read on and you will find out about my assumption.

The following week on the same reason as the previous week I stop again at Simpang Pulai RnR to inquire about my card. One Malay guy took out a stack of mesra and ATM cards that customers had accidentally left at the station but my card was not there. If that lady notice my card and surrender it to the supervisor, surely the card is there.

Thats the history.

Back to this morning.

This bloody guy who might have 'stolen' my card left on the counter or the given by the lady at the counter. Err.... does she have access to read the card particulars? I think so because of the availability of on site redemption.

This bloody guy must be someone who drive a high powered car, might be educated or have lots of money (but still steals). I checked with mymesra and was told that my points of 17002 was redeemed with petrol worth more than RM100. My 1991 Proton Saga can only fill up to about RM80 full tank. So this guy must be driving an expensive car with that much of petrol on full tank.

So, some people with brain are not that honest after all. He must have stolen and kept my card all this while and checked my available point and fill up. He can't redeem it from mymesra because the items redeemed will be sent to my home address. He is a smart fool......errr...smart bloody fool. Hope he read this posting.

This morning after my call to my mesra, I was told that my stolen card will be terminated. So, you that bloody fool, keep that card as souvenir to tell your children and grand children that you are a thief and just steals RM 100 eventhough you have a fat wallet.

Not In Coverage But Still Can Say Yes

This blog is posted from my new place of residence. I have just moved from the National Sports complex to this new community beginning 1 April. Not far, just about 4.5 kilometre away. Still within the Bukit Jalil area.

I am using Yes as my broadband connection and now the signal stength is just 1 or 2 bar as compared 4 to 5 bars when I was at the National Sports complex. When I checked the speed it was just 34.64Mbps Upload and 0.35 Download at Ping 61ms. I sent a DM to Yescare and was told that my present place is outside the coverage zone and it is good enough if I still can get the signal.

What I was told is that there is two shade of blue showing coverage area and non coverage area. The lighter shade represents not in coverage. Well, if not in coverage why shade it and gave a wrong impression to customer and would be customers.

Tonight I am watching Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian on my desktop and the thumb up is there is no buffering at all eventhough the signal strength fluctuate between one and two bar. I just received a rebate of RM100 from my usage since December 2010 and that is a lot of surfing time which is at 9 cents per 3Mb.

Everybody is aware that 1st April is April Fools day. A day for people around the world create pranks, make fools out of friends and create hoaxes. Sometimes the pranks go out too far and ended up with casualties. Its a blessing that the practice is diminishing in Malaysia.

This posting is not about April Fool but my experience. On 1st April 1995, I officially change my job and moved to Kuala Lumpur. Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia released me from my Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan to enable me to hold the post of Penolong Pegawai Belia dan Sukan with National Sports Council. Therefore I have to move to Kuala Lumpur and on this day I reported to the then Director of Institut Sukan Negara, Dr Jabar Johari. Today in 1995 was also the first day I stay in a hostel like accomodation at Keramat AU3. Renting a bed with three others in a room with four double decker bed.

This year 1st April too, I will move into a rented Apartment at Bukit Jalil after having to surrender the present apartment back to National Sports Council because I am retired.

"I can go on to Google Street View and see actual photographs of your home. I can see if you have a burglar alarm, or whether there are any bushes in the garden to hide in. And I can see all the alleyways I can escape down. And, of course, I know you won't be at home.

"Once you accept a stranger into your Facebook account, they can begin what we call social engineering - delicately asking questions to build up information about you,' said Jason Hart, senior vice president of CRYPTOCard Network Security.

In Malaysia, Sex Is The Trump Card

I think it's already the talk of the country and maybe some part of the world. The timely release of a porn video to coincide with the Sarawak Election do rock the country's political scenario. While the Sodomy II is still waiting for the conclusion, another sub-plot rises. I think Malaysia politics are centred around sex. A few politician falls due to the haunting word "sex" and some came back. Is "sex" the only and successful way to topple or assassinate someone in Malaysia? So far it seems that's the way after the success of Tun M using it as his trump card in late 90s.

Will pornographic material be allowed in Malaysia if it is for a good cause? This is what the Ministers in the Prime minister's Department (whose son's hot pic were circulated over the internet sometimes ago) “It depends on what the purpose is. They wanted to show proof that Anwar had sex with this woman, not to make a pornographic video,” said the minister in the prime minister's department.

Malaysian's especially Malays, are so obsessed with sex that if one want to sell any medicine or concoction, just add the sentence 'menguatkan tenaga bathin', or 'meningkatkan daya kelalakian'.

Datuk T sex video – technical insights and rationale

This article was actually written yesterday, but upon completing the article, I was stunned by the explosive news of the sudden appearance of the trio behind the sex video. Concerned that my article might have been overtaken by this sudden turn of events, I withheld its release yesterday. However, upon a review of the latest events, I find that the technical insights and rationale put forward therein are still valid and pertinent to the issue at hand. I hence present my following article with the hope that it will add to the understanding of this fast evolving drama.

There is one simple way to find out whether ‘Datuk T’s’ pornographic video showing a look-alike of Anwar Ibrahim is a hoax, and that is to go to Anwar’s face book from your own face book account and look for his entries at the time when the video was supposed to be recorded, which is 10:23pm to 10:45pm on Feb 21, 2011.

I just did that, and I found that anwar made entries on that day at The fact that Anwar was actually posting messages in face book at the relevant time clearly10:40pm, 10:49pm, 10:50pm, for which he received 9 comments, 17 comments, 8 comments respectively. And thereafter, he made another 7 entries, up till 11:028pm. indicates that Anwar couldn’t have been doing what was indicated in the video.

As jokingly exclaimed by Anwar during the press conference on Mar 21, hours after the exposure of the video: How could he be carrying out the sex act and typing on his computer at the same time? Obviously, ‘Datuk T’ had neglected to look up Anwar’s face book before he launched his pornographic piece.

QUESTIONABLE TIME FRAME

Purely on a technical level, another question that puzzled me was: How could so many acts be compressed into the purported duration of 22 minutes as indicated in the video? Journalists who had viewed the video said that the love-making part lasted 17 minutes. This means that within the remaining 5 minutes, the following events had to be completed:

Pre-sex act:

Anwar look-alike (Mr. X) walked into the room with the conductor who gave instruction to the prostitute who was already waiting there. The conductor left the room.

The couple undressed.

Woman went into the bathroom and took a bath, which should include wiping dry with a towel (the undressing and bathroom part of the video was skipped by ‘Datuk T’, but he said the woman took a bath).

Post-sex act:

Mr.X wiped his lower part with tissue, and went into the bathroom to clean himself, which presumably included washing and wiping dry with a towel.

Mr. X came out from the bathroom, dressed himself and walked off the room.

It should be obvious that when one tallies up the reasonable time allowed for completing each of these events, the total will far exceed 5 minutes. This conflict of time frames further undermines the credibility of the video clip.

PLOT IMPLAUSIBLE

‘Datuk T’ said that the sex romp took place in a Spa which provides sex in Kuala Lumpur.

Will anyone believe that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim – who has been subjected incessantly to all sorts of cruel and unjust political persecution for the past 13 years, branded as enemy number one, for which the ruling power has been desperate to see that he is politically annihilated – would even condescend to walk into a place of such disrepute at the peak hours, where he would be instantly recognized by almost everyone present there, not to mention having sex with a prostitute in the same place? Haven’t ‘Datuk T’ and the plotters behind him overstretched their imagination, if they think the people would swallow such a story?

‘Datuk T’ also claimed that Anwar sent him to the room to look for his lost watch.

If Anwar had patronized a prostitute in the room, would he be so foolish as to send someone to the room to look for his watch? Wouldn’t that stupid act amount to a virtual confession to others what misdeed he had done there? And wouldn’t that confession spell the end of his political career? Who will believe that Anwar would value the watch more than his family, his political career and the destiny of his country and his people?

Despite the indefatigable effort of the ruling power to fix Anwar all these years, has it produced an iota of evidence of his political or moral misconduct, such as corruption, abuse of power, religious or moral sins?

If Anwar has shown none of these weaknesses, why should Malaysians believe ‘Datuk T’ in preference over Anwar, when what the former has displayed so far is nothing but crass acts of character assassination that serves the evil design of his political masters?

Missing My Loved Ones

It is fated and everyone has to accept that missing their loved ones can never be fended off. Everybody will at one time or another will have have to face the fact that he or she has to go.

The saddest moment in life is to accept that he or she passed away.

My family is made up of 6 siblings and now I am the only one left. I was born after my elder brother and two sisters passed away and that didn't make it as my saddest moments. But two of my younger brothers was called by Allah and that leaves me alone with my aged parents (mother and mother). Although I am not depending on both of them for a living but to have lost them is a fact I have to accept. Being young doesn't mean one will not die soon.

I lost my youngest brother on 17th November 2007 due to Acute Myiocardial Infarction at the Kedah Medical Centre. That was too bad I could not see his remains for the last time because those who arrange the funeral did not wait for me to arrive eventhough I was just an hour away after rushing back from Kuala Lumpur. They just buried him and when I arrived at the cemetry, the talkin is being read by the Imams. He was laid to rest at the Mesjid Al Huda Cemetry, Kg. Lubok Air, Air Hitam Kedah

This year again I lost another brother also due to illness. He was diagnosed as having Advanced Colon Cancer and Peritonial Metastasis

He passed away peacefully at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital at 11.40 am on 17th Mac 2011 with all the family at his hospital bedside. Thank god, I was able to make my way back to Alor Setar and even though I have no opportunity to speak to him from the time of my arrival (about 4.00am) till his last breath, I was present at that critical moment. He was laid to rest at the Mesjid Al Ghufran Cementry, Akar Peluru, Persiaran Sultan Abdul Hamid, Alor Setar. Dear brother, Mohd Zahir bin Hj Baharum, Al Fatihah to you. 1957 - 2011

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my Facebook friends, my friends and well wishers who prayed for his health while he was warded from 3rd Mac 2011 until the moment of his demise. Also to those who convey their condolences to our bereaved family.

I also convey our family's deepest thanks to all the staff of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar, who took care of him and the surgeon and his staff for all their effort to save his live. However Allah is more Powerful and Invincible.

My Samsung Tab Has Battery Problem?

I think its confirm that the battery of my Samsung Tab has a problem. It was fully charged last night at about 12.00 pm. I wanted to test whether the problem persist and leave it overnight on standby with the cables pulled off. When I woke up at 7.00 this morning, and upon checking, found out that the battery symbol is blinking and when I switch it on, it remind me to plug the charger and only 1% of power left.

It means that on standby, the battery can't even stand half a day comparing to the products review I read on the internet. I pick part of the review here. So, how about that battery life? It's pretty good. After periodically surfing the web and reading on the Tab for about a day and a half with just 3G on, the battery is at about 20 percent. On our taxing video rundown test, which loops a standard definition video at about 65 percent brightness and 3G off, but WiFi on, the Tab's 4000mAh battery lasted for 6 hours and 9 minutes. That's around the same as some of the other Android tablet's we've tested, but not as long as the iPad's 9 hours and 33 minutes.

Another review HERE says "The battery life is expected to last an impressive 7 hours of continuous video playback".

My Tab can't even run for an hour after a full charge and when the battery show 50%, in about less than 5 minutes the message asking me to plug in the charger pops up. I think I have to charge the battery with some Tongkat Ali power or Gambir Sarawak, to maintain its erection, err.. I mean power and prevent it from premature ejaculation.

I tried recalibrating the battery by letting it drain totally and recharged but there is no significance change.

I an going to take it back to the dealer........

Bonding Family Ties

I went back to Sabah end of February. Its the second time I travel to Sabah within three months. I was in Kota Kinabalu last December and lectured at the Naval base in Sapangar. It was my first lecture on asset management since all the past fourteen years I concentrated on Sports Science especially Sports Philosophy. I might write in detail on this matter on my sports blog.

In December I just had a brief visit to Kota Marudu, a rural town on the Northern part of Sabah where I start my career in the second half of the 70s.

This second visit was more memorable where I had the opportunity to bring back all my five kids and son in law and four grandchildren. It was a very momentuous moment to foster a closer tie between my family and the rest who stay in Kota Marudu. It was an objective achieved where my family member and those in Sabah get along well, especially the kids who will be the next generation of our big family. At least I had done ny part to close up the ranks and let then get to know each other, something that is eroding among family members. At least the family ties bonded and they know who their relatives are.

I Did A General Health Scan

This post was posted in my other blog by mistake and I copied the exact thing to post it again here.

Tonight (22 Feb 2011) I did a general health scan at Downtown, Cheras by a community service group. What I observe the group might be promoting CNI health product, but that is not a problem. They are not forcing anybody to buy anything, but just suggesting. However there is a minimal charge for the check I did. It was RM 5.00.

The test result (desirable standards in bracket)

Body fat. 21.7% (8-20 for male)

Water percentage in body 57% (50-65)

Muscle mass 49.2

Physical Status 5 (normal)

BMR 1413 (1600-1800kcal)

Biological age 40. (Wow!, I like this, life has just begin. LOL)

Why I Switched From Maybank2U to CIMBclicks

Many of us have been using the convenience of online banking for fast and easy transactions. It is no doubt that we agree the usefullness of using online banking for most transactions because it can be done at the comfort of our own home.

Many too have been using Maybank2U facilities, me inclusive. But since early last year I was forced to stop using Maybank2U facilities ever since I forgot my password and my account was blocked. I know the best solution is to contact the customer service which I did. Failing the first trial, I did a second. Both ended up with a failure. Them main reason is the customer service fail to respond to my request for unblocking the account. I had to wait in vain and loosing money to my phone provider and in the end nothing fruitful.

Maybe the customer service at their office is very busy even at midnight.

I called personally at one of their e-banking outlet and the answer is I have to call the customer service, which is the same number. I gave up.

Recently I experience the same situation with CIMBclicks. They changed the password from 10 to 8 units. I can’t log in to my account.

I went to the bank and, I lift off my hat because the customer service is so efficient. When I inquire at the front desk, the lady on duty immediately called their customer service using their own phone and within 10 minutes, everything was settled. The lady put her best effort to sort out and that’s the way customer service should be.

That’s hoe I switched my online banking experience from a suppose to be the largest bank in Malaysia to another.

I think customer service is one way one can loose customers.

Oh! My Galaxy Tab

Something must be wrong with my 2weeks old Samsung Galaxy Tab. I found out today that it eats into the battery so fast. In 35 minutes, the message appear asking me to connect to the charger becauase there's only 15% battery power left. Today alone I have to charge twice and another funny thing is that a full charge took only about half an hour only.

I Own A Samsung Galaxy Tab Now

It has been quite sometimes that i wanted to own a Tab. For a few months I've been walking around IT centres surveying for the best price of the latest craze in the computing world. After Apple came up with the iPad, other computer companies seems to follow Apple and come up with their own gadget. While Apple is a 10 inch screen pad, it seems that other companies are producing a 7 inch screen which is quite portable and can fit into a jacket's pocket.

I have been comparing whether buying a Pad or Tab by asking around computer 'experts' and also read reviews in computer magazines and on the internet. Seems that majority of those I ask prefer the Tab. While doing so, too, my mind is already setting on the Tab. The final straw was at Low Yatt two days back and I was told to take the Tab because of price factor, performance and availability of softwares especially those running on the android platform while iPad can only use Apple softwares. Due to flexibility, I opted for the Samsung Tab.

I knew that the corner and I decided to wait another day even though I was given a best price at Low Yatt.

My patience is worth. I visited the Malaysian IT Fair at Mid Valley Mega Mall and got the better price. There was a special price of only RM2199 while stock last. I saved about RM500.00 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Now I am twiddling with my newly owned mobile portability gadget.

I hope now i will be more productive with my blogging activities.

Office 2010 Returns Error 1719

Bought a copy of Office 2010 Home and Student.
Went home to install and OMG, Windows 7 returns an Error 1719.
Found out on the internet that this is Windows Installer Error.
Tried to uninstall the starter pack that comes pre installed on my machine.
The Admin does not allow me to do it. Who is the admin? Me or Windows?
Hello!! Microsoft..... This Windows 7 on my machine is now mine because I bought it (Genuinely) and I should do all the administration on this computer. You should leave it all to me.
I am not alone facing this problem.
Now, Why is windows 7 so difficult to manage?

Still More Problem With Windows 7

All this while I have been using Windows XP on my netbook and now Windows 7 on my new desktop. Its a Home Premium that come installed in the CPU.

Teething problem is of course getting use to the application. Not much different but some different lar......Just dunno know how to explain....

First problem

I found out that other registered user or guest on this CPU running Windows 7 have to get my permission (as admin) before he/she be allowed to use my YES4G Go dongle. If I change the admin control account to 'Do not notify me' , the computer cannot find the dongle at all. It is a problem when I am not around and my kids want to log on to the internet using my computer and my Yes account. I will have to reveal my password and whats the use of having admin password for admins' security. This problem do not exist on Windows XP I am using on my netbook.

I even went to enquire on how to release the gadget for use without permission of the admin but the answer is there is no way. Oh gosh......Windows 7 should have some liniency for their end user instead of controlling everything. End users should be given the option to control the admins' User Account Control and release whatever he seem to be safe. I have yet to try the Celcom Broadband stick for this problem. If there is no problem with Broadband stick, then the problem must be with the YES4G Go Dongle.

Problem 2

I have been updating my blog using the ease of Windows Live Writer found under the Windows Live Essential (WLE). I even use other programs from WLE such as Sky Drive, MSN Messenger, Emails and Picture Gallery Viewer.

The problem exist when I can't open up my Live Writer and an error message pops up telling me Windows will inform me if "they" find a solution for my problem and then close the Live Writer. I tried shutting down the PC, restart and open Live writer and the same error message pops up. The funny part is, Windows too do not know what the problem is. Shit...........

I then tried to repair and reinstall Windows Live Essential 2011 but after a few minutes of waiting, I got an error message informing me that WLE cannot be installed because there some error in one of the program. I tried a few times up to the tips given by Microsoft, even to unable my firewall, but to no avail.

Then I decided to uninstall every WLE found on my computer, reinstall and after minutes of waiting, the same problem appear.

Now, this is a Microsoft product, I am trying to install onto a machine running Microsoft latest softwares, Windows 7 and yet Microsoft can't even solve a simple problem. Don't they have detecting mechanism that can synchronize previous versions with latest version? Not even the Windows update on my Win 7 helps.

Later on I try my Celcom Broadband stick and oh no!, problem again. The error messages

Now I don't know what other problems will I face next with this Windows 7 which is supposed to replace the bug infested Windows Vista. I am expecting more and more problem will be on the way as time go on.

My Bone Health Check

Tonight at Carrefour Seri Petaling I put myself to a bone health check by Anlene and this is my result.

Thanks God I am still in the low risk category at 56. However with age catching up I am prone to move to the Medium risk.

The bone check the quality and strength of the bone and helps to evaluate risks to bone fracture due to Osteoporosis.

Advice from Anlene for healthy bone are:

Drink high Calcium milk 4 spoon x 2 glasses a day
Exercise such as jogging, walking and aerobic because it helps bone absorb calcium more efficiently.
Limit taking alcohol and caffeinated beverages
Go for regular bone check

Facebook Will End On 15 Mac 2011

It might be bad news of year 2011 to many but it is also good news for many. Yes, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he will close down the website that took the world by storm and changed how people interact online. Photo and news below are copied from the Weekly World News website.

PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.

“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.

“I’m glad the Facebook nightmare is over,” said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. “Now my teenager’s face won’t be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.”

Those in the financial circuit are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at around 7.9 billion.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe.

“I don’t care about the money,” said Zuckerberg. “I just want my old life back.”

The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

My Windows 7 First Problem

I started using Windows 7 operating when I buy a new CPU. As with my previous computer, this is also a shared computer with my other family members.

Being a shared PC definitely we have to add guest users and myself being the admin. I log on to the internet using Yes Go dongle.

I face a problem when I was registering the connection for guest account. Every time I switched to guest account, it will ask for the admins permission get the Go dongle connected to the internet. It will be quite a hassle because every time guest want to use the PC my permission has to be granted and that means I must always be around when someone want to use the PC. Surely I will not reveal my admin password.

How to solve this problem?

It's already 2011 and I am sure most people have not fulfilled last years resolution.

So, carry forward the resolution with some amendments? I don't make resolutions because change does not only occur during the turn of the new year. Resolutions have to be made every now and then and as is where it is. Haha...just like buying property.

2011 is a new life for me. I am a pensioner now. No more waking up in the morning and get ready to go to work. I have more time to myself and my family. But that does not mean I am going to stay dormant because it will affect my brain and my physical self. Lucky I am quite net savvy and I can still challenge my mind to new things and knowledge on the internet.

I take this opportunity in my first posting of the decade to wish all my readers Happy NewYear.

My Life History Repeats

Whether it is coincidence or otherwise, I am living the life of a retired civil servant with some sweet memories to be inscribed into my historical annal.

On my birthday the beginning of the life of a retired person, I celebrated at the house I bought when I was in service. Then on the same day I went to meet my mother and father.

Today (23 Dec 2010) I had an opportunity to go back to the place where I started my career life as a school teacher at SMK Kota Marudu, Sabah. I ~~borrowed~~ rented a Perodua Viva from one of the participant at just RM 50.00 for the trip because going by public transport will be too time consuming and I won’t have the time for that return trip since i have a plane to catch in the afternoon. For that odd 120 km drive I filled up RM 10.00 at Bakut Petronas Station and again another RM 10.00 at Shell Petrol Station (no choice) in Kota Marudu.

Even though just barely two hours at the town, it was a nostalgic memory and what more I went back to the now abandoned government quarters where I stayed and my eldest son and first daughter was born. This happens in the first week of my new life. Not everybody can experience these nostalgic moment. What more for me I am staying in Kuala Lumpur and my career starts in a district in Sabah when going back will incur high cost on transportation. I consider myself lucky to achieve all these as if its a repeat of life.

This picture on the left is the government quarters that I stayed, get married and where my first two children's born.

The opportunity to recall memories happens (on Allah’s will) when I came back to Kota Kinabalu to lecture on a topic under Sports Management and this is my first lecture after retiring. It is teaching and I start my career 34 years ago is also teaching. Being given this opportunity to lecture in Kota Kinabalu is, I consider a godsend opportunity. As Muslim I deeply believe that I can just plan but Allah permits. This lecture was at first scheduled a week before, that is the last week of my career life. Then it was postponed and it falls in the first week of my retirement. Its as if Allah want all this as a repeat of my experiences on different life, adult life and golden years life. Well, of course coming on assignment all my expanses are paid for and can consider a free trip. All the same as when I first on Sabah soil in 1974, was paid for by the government.

It was a worthy trip for me since I can recall my memories.

17th December 2010 - The Final Day

Everything tat starts will come to an end. I started work in January 1976 as a sxhool teacher in a school in Kota Marudu, Sabah and served for 5 years before completing my five year term contract with the government of Sabah. I returned and served as a teacher too at a Chinese Type Secondary school in Alor Setar before being transfered to Jitra. Then I was transfered again to another school in the same district and served until April 1995 as a school teacher and Track and Field coach. I and some friends who were transfered to the school to coach the Tunas Cemerlang athletes, a National Sports Council development program, build up the school from unknown in sports to one of the sports powerhouse in Kedah.

Beginning 1st April 1995 I migrated and work at the present organisation and today 17th December 2010 is my last day in office because I will be on compulsory retirement from the service. Beginning 19th December I will be a YB. Nope! Not Yang Berhormat but a Yang Bersara.

I don't know what will life be when I wake up next Monday 20th Dec and find that I am already jobless. It has been 34 years I wake up on every working weekdays and get ready to go to work but now I wake up and just sit there doing nothing. Its quite difficult to adapt to a new life after been doing something that has become a routine in your life.

Just hours away and I will put my last thumbprint out and I will leave the government service after being satisfied with what I have done for the nation. I have been performing without fail all my duties and I thank Allah for giving me the health to enable me to carry out my duty single handedly throughout the country. With the backup of my efficient clerk of course.

Thanks to all who have helped me in one way or another in fulfilling my duties to the nation. I have disseminated my knowledge and to those who had been involved, please share the knowledge with others.
